2010 - back to events page
Amoryn Engel of the National Post wrote about PIA’s most recent event in May 2010, which raised over $120 000 in support of our 2010 initiatives: “High-fashion denim paired with au courant blousons were all the rage at the recent must-do art fundraiser, 2ARTRAGEOUS, hosted by the very exclusive Partners in Art group to support its 2010 projects in collaboration with MOCCA and OCAD. Held atop the Burroughes Building on Queen West, the vibe was a sassy bohemian dance party that went on much later than the expected 9:30 p.m. PIA outgoing co-chairs Shabin Mohamed and Eleanor Shen led the charge and passed the torch to incoming co-chairs Kathy Houde-Lovas and Barbara Macdonald. Amazing music echoed throughout the warehouse-like space and enthused patrons refused to leave the dance floor. Beautifully painted performance artists filled the space, which inspired others to do some performing of their own! A big shout out to 2ARTRAGEOUS event chairs Mimi Joh and Karen Pilosof. Very edgy par-tay!”
Generous support for the event was provided by lead sponsor First Capital and others, including BMO Financial Group, Aastra Telecom, Rogers, TD Securities, C.A. Delaney Capital Management, Gluskin Sheff, Odgers Berndtson, RP Investment Advisors, St. Joseph Communications and UBS.

2008 - back to events page
On November 5, 2008 Partners in Art hosted Artrageous at the Power Plant, to raise funds for the Power Plant’s commissioning program. Artrageous featured an eclectic mix of unique food and interactive art, and several surprises that helped make the event "the best art party of the year." Neil Noble's firm Noble Culinary Catering set the "artrageous" tone with exotically displayed and delectable food including candied lady apples, shrimp displayed on intricate iron topiary trees and sushi laid amongst orchids on giant ice block tables. Interactive art installations kept guests busy throughout the evening, and guests sipped sparkling rose while tunes by dj Eric Ling set the tone.
Two unique artist multiples were for sale, and limited numbers of these are still available: Louis Jacob's Adamante (the only diamond you will ever need) and Scott Lyall's Seul (Alone). For more information please email artrageous@partnersinart.ca.
